About the communities I service . . .

Nanaimo The City of
Nanaimo, named after the first nations village of "Snenymos"
is situated on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island. Our mild
year-round climate boasts an average of only 37 inches of rainfall a
year. A haven for tourists, Nanaimo is rapidly becoming the
preferred retirement centre of the Island.
Virtually unlimited year round recreation, ie. fishing, golfing,
hiking, world renowned scuba diving, art galleries, 800 seat Port
Theatre, the Harbourfront Walkway, are just some examples of the
activities for you to ponder.
Nanaimo, being the "Harbour City", boasts shopping, (Woodgrove
Mall, is the largest on Vancouver Island), educational facilities (Malaspina
College), and medical facilities, (Nanaimo Regional Hospital) of
size and quality normally associated with much larger cities.
Our natural, inner harbour, is not only picturesque, but is a
haven to BC Ferries, deep sea freighters, seaplanes and pleasure
crafts alike. Coast Realty's representatives would be pleased to
show you why we consider "The Hub of Vancouver Island", Nanaimo to
be so unique. |

Port Hardy Port Hardy
was named after Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, former
captain of H.M.S. Victory. With a population exceeding 5000, this
turn-of-the-century townsite is now the largest community in the
region and the bustling terminal for B.C. Ferries' service to Prince
Rupert and the Queen Charlotte Islands via the Inside and Discovery
Coast Passage sailing routes.
Port Hardy is the largest community of the North Island, with
many facilities. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor
activities, as well as shopping and exploring the local arts and
culture scene. |

Port McNeill The town of
Port McNeill is a thriving community on the northeastern coast
of Vancouver Island. Established in 1937, Port McNeill was named
after William McNeill, a Boston-born explorer for the Hudson's Bay
Company.
As well as being the centre of North Island logging operations,
the town's sheltered harbour is also a launching point for
sportsfishing enthusiasts who test their skills in the maze of
waterways between Vancouver Island and the mainland.
